1. Can we go around the light trail more than once?
Subject to visitor levels and social distancing requirements you can explore the Christmas Light Trail as many times as you like! We ask all guests visiting the light trail to abide by both the social distancing guidelines which can be found here.
2. Can we take photos?
Yes of course! Look out for floor markings dotted around the trail to show you the best views. Take as many pictures as you would like and share them on social media using the #WarwickCastleLightTrail. We shall share the best ones onto our social media channels!
3. Is there somewhere to eat/can I bring picnic/own food?
Unfortunately guests cannot set up a picnic within the grounds of the Light Trail. Guests will be able to purchase food and drink at our Conservatory Tea House.
4. What COVID-Safe measures have been taken?
We have limited visitor numbers for this attraction and the maximum group size is six which is in accordance with the latest government advice found here. We ask guests to adhere to government guidelines and we ask guests to stick to the time slot they have chosen. We have hand sanitizer points provided throughout the trail and we ask that face coverings must be worn in all indoor settings and in any queue line areas.
5. What should we wear?
The Light Trail is situated outdoors so please wear suitable warm winter clothes and practical shoes as the surfaces may be muddy or uneven.
6. How long will it take?
The trail takes approximately 50-60 minutes however you’re more than welcome to take your time and go around as many times as you wish.
7. Can I take a buggy/push chair? Is there somewhere to leave it?
The light trail is suitable for buggies, feel free to take them with you on your experience, but please note some areas are on grass. We do not have a suitable place to leave your buggy - should you choose not to bring it with you, we advise you leave it in your car.
8. Is the light Trail wheelchair accessible?
The light trail is fully accessible however some areas are grassy and may be uneven or muddy, should you require assistance, please speak to a member of staff.
9. Is there a group/senior/child discount?
We only have individually priced tickets available. Tickets must be purchased here.
10. Will my Merlin or Warwick Annual Pass get me a discount?

11. Is there parking close by?
We have two available car parks, our Stratford Road car park and our Stables car park. Please see our directions & parking page here for more information.
12. Is there blue badge parking nearby?
There are designated bays closer to the castle entrance for Blue Badge Holders in both the Stables Car Park and the Stratford Road Car Park.
13. Is it scary for young children?
No, the light trail is family friendly and a magical experience for all. However, please be advised that there may be areas of low lighting.
14. Is there strobe lighting?
No, the lights will only ever change colours slowly.
15. Can we bring our dog?
With the exception of assistance dogs, we do not allow any pets on-site.
16. Do we need to bring a torch?
You do not need to bring a torch as all of our paths are lit.
17. Can we explore off the trail?
No, this is a set route trail with a specific path for your safety, we ask all guests to keep to the paths marked. If you have purchased a Castle + Light Trail ticket, you are free to roam the castle before you visit the light trail between our opening and closing hours. Please note that the main castle area will close prior to your light trail time. You can explore our craft market and Ice Rink areas prior to your light trail time slot.
18. Is smoking allowed on site?
No, you are not permitted to smoke during the light trail experience, this includes the use of e-cigarettes. If you have purchased a Castle + Light Trail ticket, we have one designated smoking area on the main Castle site, which is on the East Front at the top of the mill entrance steps and one designated smoking area at Knight’s Village. The same policy applies to guests using electronic cigarettes.

20. Should I arrive ahead of my timeslot?
Please arrive 5 minutes before your timeslot. If you are parking in our Stratford Road car park, please allow an extra 15 minutes.
21. Can I buy tickets on the day?
No, we want to ensure that we keep everyone safe, so it is important that we know how many visitors are arriving in advance. Tickets must be purchased here.
22. How long is the Light Trail?
The light trail is 1.5km long
23. Are there toilets along the route?
Toilets are only available at the start and end of the walk.
24. If I am late will I miss my slot?
We will make every effort to accommodate you should you miss your time slot. Please speak to a member of staff when you arrive.
