- How do I buy tickets?
Book your skating session online through the Warwick Castle Website here.
You can also book your tickets from our onsite on the day Ticket Office, subject to availability.
- Does my skate ticket include Castle entrance?
Your booking allows you access to the East Front of Warwick Castle where our Ice Rink is set beneath the spectacular Guy’s Tower. Your ticket does not allow access to the main Castle attraction or any other area of the grounds. You can easily upgrade your ticket to include entrance to the Castle by booking online and choosing ‘Castle and Skate’ tickets or on the day of your visit.
- I am planning to buy a discounted Castle ticket, does the discount apply to Ice Rink tickets?
No, discounts via our various partners do not include the Ice Skating activity.
- I have an Annual Pass, do I get a discount on skating?
Yes, Annual Pass holders will be able to buy an Ice Skating ticket with a 20% discount by booking on the Warwick Castle website here and selecting "Passholder Skate Session". You will be asked to enter your Annual Pass ID number at the time of booking and will need to show your Annual Pass to gain entry to the castle on the day of your visit. Please note tickets are subject to availability and are available on a first come first served basis.
- I have booked online… what happens next?
You will receive a confirmation email with your unique barcode which will be scanned by a member of staff on arrival at the Ice Rink. You can bring this email as confirmation on your phone, tablet or printed.
- Can I change my booking?

- I haven’t received my ticket?
Please check your spam mailbox as our email may have gone there. Not there? Please email our customer service team on email@example.com and we will assist you.
- I have already booked my visit to the Castle, can I add on skating?
Yes, you can book a skating only ticket on the Warwick Castle website.
- How long is the session on the ice for?
Sessions last for 45 minute on the ice and 15 minutes for skate exchange and session change.
- When should I arrive?
Please arrive at the Skate Exchange 30 minutes before your session time to put on skates, store belongings and get ready to take to the ice.
- Should I pre-book a session or can I turn up on the day?
You will need to pre-book your tickets online. Pre-booking tickets for the Ice Rink is essential and this guarantees your selected session time. Tickets can be printed at home from the online system.
- Can I book a Skate aid?
Yes, they are £5 each to hire from the skate exchange and are available on arrival on a first come, first served basis. We will make every effort to ensure skate aids are available, but we are unable to guarantee availability.
- If I cannot make it to my booked session, will I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer any refunds for non-attendance. Where it is possible, we will try to accommodate you in another session, with advance notice; this will be subject to availability and is not guaranteed.
- Is skate hire included?
Skate hire is included.
- Can I bring my own skates?
Skate hire is included in the ticket price. You are able to provide your own skates if preferred. Warwick Castle is not responsible for your skates, shoes or property when skating at our rinks. There is no reduction in price if you bring your own skates.
- What are your skate sizes?
Our skate sizes go from size J8 to size 14. We also have a limited number of bob skates for children.
- Can I bring my bag on the ice?
Bags of any description are NOT permitted on the ice, so we advise that you only bring the essentials with you. All bags (luggage, handbags, rucksacks, man-bags, purses etc.) must be stored away in the lockers in the skate exchange.
- Is there a spectator area?
Yes we have an adjoining spectator decked area and viewing platform at our ice rinks. This is not a covered area so please also wrap up warm.
- Do I have to pay to be a spectator?
It is FREE! Spectators do not have to pay to access the decked viewing areas.
- Can I park at the Ice Rink?
Limited parking is available in the main Warwick Castle Car Park and is charged at £6 per car, per day. For premium parking the Stables Car Park is located adjacent to the entrance and is charged at £10 per car, per day. Limited blue badge parking is available in both car parks, charges still apply. Parking charges apply 24 hours a day. Please note that there may be a 15 minute walk to the Ice Rink so please allow enough time. The Castle is also an easy walk from Warwick town or St Nicholas park car parks.
- Is there wheelchair access?
The spectator viewing area is fully accessible for wheelchair users. The ice rink is not wheelchair accessible.

- I am a carer, can I skate for free?
Yes, on the basis that you are accompanying someone who will be ice skating.
To book please follow these steps:
- Purchase tickets online for your group, except yourself, as carer.
- Email email@example.com with booking confirmation number, proof of requirement for care (e.g. PIP) and the carer ticket booking will be made. You will then receive a booking confirmation email.
- Please note availability is subject to change, if we cannot accommodate your request, we will contact you to discuss alternate date and time options.
- Are there toilets at the ice rink?
Yes, there are toilets available adjacent to the Ice Rink or at the Stables Courtyard entrance area. There is an accessible toilet at the Stables Courtyard entrance area
We do have clear directional signage in place but if you’re unclear please speak to a member of staff who will be happy to help.
- What should I wear?
We recommend wrapping up in warm outdoor clothing and please wear gloves. On all outdoor ice rinks, there is a risk of getting wet as there is surface water or if you fall over and have any contact with the surface of the ice rink.
- Will I get wet when skating on the rink?
On all outdoor ice rinks there is a risk of getting wet if you fall over and have any contact with the surface of the ice rink. As the rinks are open-air, rain or snow is also a possibility so please wrap up warm in appropriate outdoor clothing. It is still safe to skate on the ice during rain and snow and this does not affect the ability to skate on the rink.
- If the weather is very poor, will I be able to skate?
Usually the outdoor ice rink is open in all weathers. Our advanced cooling equipment keeps the rinks frozen and operational in most weathers. In the unlikely event that extreme weather conditions force us to close the rink we will arrange for you to book into an alternative session, subject to availability. Our team will make this decision in the interests of your safety.
- How old do you have to be to skate on the rink?
To skate on our rinks you have to be at least 3 years old.
Skaters aged between 3 and 9 inclusive must be accompanied by an adult (18+) on the ice. Children between 10-12 years of age must be accompanied at the site with adults who are watching at all times. A ratio of 1 adult to 5 children will be accepted. You can skate on our rink up to any age, although you are responsible for skating safely and it is not recommended for anyone with serious illness, heart conditions or pregnant mothers to be.
- Do you have skate marshalls?
Our Ice Skate Marshalls are on the ice rink to monitor safe skating and will assist if needed. We also have a first aider available at all times.

- Can I skate on Christmas Day?
Unfortunately, we are closed on Christmas Day but we are open all other days shown on our website.
- Can I buy festive refreshments?
Yes, we will have a range of stalls selling festive fare.
